Royal Mews Dental Practice are a Platinum Invisalign Provider in Southend
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an innovative way of straightening teeth using several removable, very discreet aligners, which gradually move the teeth little by little, changing each aligner every 1-2 weeks. The ideal wear time per day is 22 hours, taking them out to eat/drink and brush your teeth.
The Invisalign aligners are custom made using a Smart Track material that fits snugly over the teeth and is trimmed to just short of the gum line.
Because Invisalign aligners are removable it easier to brush and maintain your teeth compared with fixed braces.

Your Invisalign Journey at Royal Mews Dental Practice:
At your consultation, Adam will do an orthodontic assessment , discussing your case and go through the Invisalign journey , what is involved in this process and also discuss costs.
Once Adam has confirmed you’re eligible for treatment, he will take photos, X-rays and digital scans of your teeth.
Here at the Royal Mews Dental Practice we use the Itero Element digital scanner instead of taking impressions for your Invisalign treatment. Add picture of the scanner.
These records, together with a personalised prescription from Adam are used to create a ClinCheck® 3D treatment plan, just for you.
Once the treatment plan is approved by Adam and yourself, the Invisalign aligners are manufactured using digital technology and 3D printing.
After being custom-made and shipped to Royal Mews you’ll receive a series of aligners to wear every day and change at home – on average every 1-2 weeks.
You’ll visit Adam on average every 6-8 weeks to monitor progress and receive new aligners. Visits are more frequent at the start of treatment and sometimes towards the end of treatment.
Sometimes additional aligners may be needed for final finishing movements but these are included in the quoted cost.
After finishing your treatment plan, retainers will be required to maintain your new smile. Both fixed retainers ( where feasible/appropriate ) and removable retainers such as Vivera retainers are included with the treatment.
While Invisalign aligners aren’t invisible they’re very inconspicuous. In most cases you’ll be able to have conversations with friends and family without them even realising that you’re wearing your aligners.
You may have a slight lisp at first, but you’ll quickly get used to your aligners and should be talking clearly and confidently within a few days.
Invisalign aligners have been designed with your comfort in mind using ‘transparent polycrystalline alumina’ – a clear, smooth material that incidentally was designed by NASA. Invisalign also has the benefit of having no metal wires or brackets, which can sometimes cause discomfort at the beginning of treatment.
You need to wear your aligners for around 20 to 22 hours a day, but you can take them out for eating, drinking, brushing and contact sports.
Invisalign treatment at Royal Mews starts from just £1,840.
No brace is suitable for everyone, but you’ll be pleased to hear that Invisalign can be used to straighten the majority of mild to moderate cases. You can find out if Invisalign is right for you during a free no-obligation consultation.
Yes, once you’ve completed your treatment you’ll be given fixed and/or removable retainers. These will make sure your teeth stay in their new position.
