“The services we provide at Royal Mews are personal by nature. Although we specialise in dental care, building professional relationships with our clientele is important to us – in doing so, we may collect substantive amounts of personal data about you. These may include “sensitive personal data†as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998 – namely physical health or condition.
All data are processed in accordance with the legislation. Part of our compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 is the registration of the purposes for which we process data with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) – the “Notificationâ€. This Notification is available on the Public Register of Data Controllers at www.ico.gov.uk.
As we may provide NHS treatment, we are deemed to be a “Public Authority†under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 – as such we are bound by the terms of this legislation as well with regard to all non-personal data we may hold.
We may share data with third parties as part of the provision of our services (particularly to prevent harm to you) and/or if we are required to do so by UK law. In providing any sensitive personal data, your consent to any processing is implied. We cannot accept liability for any processing by third parties not connected to our services.
None of the above affects your rights to request access to any of your personal data we may hold. Should you wish to make such a request under the legislation, please do so in writing – email is acceptable. Please note that we may charge a £10 administration fee for requests which is payable in advance and non-refundable. “
