Tooth coloured fillings in Essex

All our dentists are registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and our dental clinic is regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), so you can rest assured you are in safe hands here at Royal Mews Dental.

Most people will experience a tooth cavity at some point in their lives and will often need to have a filling. A filling can replace the part of a tooth that has been lost by decay or accidental fracture. In the past, dentists have generally used amalgam fillings (otherwise known as metal fillings or silver fillings) but these are unsightly when a person laughs or smiles.

What are white fillings?

At Royal Mews Dental Practice, we offer our patients white fillings, which are just as strong as traditional fillings and will also match the natural shade of the rest of your teeth.

We recommend you book a routine oral health examination so that we can assess the condition of your teeth. Practising good oral hygiene will help to prevent tooth decay.

All of our dental treatments are guaranteed for 12 months.

Please read our FAQs about white fillings for a better understanding of the procedure.

What are the benefits of white fillings?

White fillings are made from a composite resin, which is available in various shades to match the natural colour of your smile. This modern material can last for many years and is just as strong as traditional amalgam fillings.

Can I replace silver fillings with white fillings?

Old silver or metal fillings can be easily replaced with white fillings. The procedure is normally straightforward and this dental treatment is an excellent, affordable way to aesthetically enhance your smile. The same composite resin can also be used to build up a chipped tooth but if a tooth is too weak or severely fractured, we may recommend dental crowns, in-lays or on-lays.

What are the signs that I may need a filling?
